EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
IQ can predict academic performance reasonably well and to also predict something of professional success. But it's clear that this is not the entire factor in the equation. Some people with remarkable IQ scores do poorly in life; their behaviour, character and communication can hinder their chance to succeed. A missing element in the success equation is emotional intelligence, a concept made popular by Daniel Goleman in his book ‘Emotional Intelligence'. He and now a whole body of work propose that those who are emotionally intelligent have the following traits:
It indicates an ease around others and can determine our ability to effectively and successfully express ourselves and our leadership. BR training can deliver emotional intelligence assessments and sessions to coach others in gaining these skills. "Let's not forget that the little emotions are the great captains of our lives and we obey them without realising it." Vincent Van Gogh |
