INTRODUCING

ESITO NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN BUSINESS (FIRST LINE MANAGEMENT) LEVEL 3

 

What is it?

The ESITO Supervisory Programme is a training programme for supervisors specifically designed to meet the requirements of the Electricity Supply Industry. After successful completion of the programme, candidates will receive the National Certificate in Business (First Line Management) Level 3

It is a recognised qualification that:

  • improves skills by integrating learning back into the workplace
  • uses workplace assessment to ensure relevance
  • involves managers to support the learning

 

Who is it for?

Anyone who is in a team leader or supervisor role who has had no formal management training, or a staff member who is seeking promotion into a supervisory role.

 

The qualification and training:

The programme comprises of six modules.  Each module is delivered with sufficient time in between for a coaching session with the trainer to complete assessment tasks.  The six modules are:

Module 1: Introduction to the Programme Supervisory Development

  • Understanding the role of supervisor and transition issues from `buddy to boss'
  • Managing vs. doing
  • Clarifying your role
  • Getting the right attitude
  • Your personal development plan

Module 3:  Communication

  • Effective Communication
  • Listening & Questioning techniques
  • Communication styles
  • Resolving conflict

Module 5: Team Development & Motivation, Taking Charge of Change

  • Introduction to team development
  • How to motivate teams and individuals
  • Managing change with your team
  • Stress & change

 

Module 2: Time Management and Goal Setting

  • Goal Setting
  • Goal achievement
  • Tools and techniques to assist in doing your work
  • Time wasters to avoid
  • Effective delegation

Module 4: Performance Management

  • Introduction to managing your team
  • Setting SMART objectives
  • How to effectively give feedback
  • How to manage poor performance

Module 6: Coaching

  • Skills & qualities of effective coaches
  • Developing your coaching style
  • Learning a coaching process
